Why Google only indexing my homepage instead of Post

When my post gets indexed, if I search with site:mydomain.com I'll find the post, but when I copy the keyword and search it on Google I won't find it but rather I'll see my home page instead of the post.
Why is this happening?
I bought an expired domain, do you think it has anything to do with it?

When I search for a keyword I'll see my domain at the end of the last page after all the unrelated search results

I also face this problem with a forum I started. It was also expired domain.

So now expired domain are becoming useless,

I also have a domain I brought, new domain, 3 months old after Google update affected it, is now getting indexed but is currently behaving this way too

My sites are facing the same problem. Google shows the home page for the keyword instead of the articles.

For my sites, it is because my sites have lots of backlinks pointing to the home page, and I put keywords in the title and excerpt. GG sees home page has high authority and also includes the keyword, so GG shows the home page instead of the article.

What I did is I removed the keyword in the title and excerpt, so no keyword on the home page. Most time problems solved. Also, I built backlinks to articles and made internal links to other articles.

I am having the exact opposite problem myself. Posts index just fine, but my home page = nope.

Is your keyword a brand keyword?
If not then someway google finds your homepage better optimized for that keyword.

That's a funny assumption as my entire portfolio has 95% of expired domains.

Maybe I haven't experienced this because I only invest only in recently expired domains that have a very powerful backlink profile.

My problem is still not fixed, what seo plugin are you using?

Are you using rankmath instant indexing API?

Just a general question since I don't own website from a long time.

Do you not use GSC for indexing like in the old days? Submit the sitemap or manually?

I use rankmath instant indexing and also submit to GSC sometimes

My suggestion. Wouldn't it be better to use what google provided rather than using outer tools?
Submitting url through the GSC might provide better results. Good Luck .

same problem on my domain. Purchase brand new one year ago. No ai content or anything. Everything genuine but before 4 to 5 days suddenly all traffic gone and posts is indexed but showing homepage on most keyword and other ranking gone.

Rank math & yeast.
No I don't use the indexing api.
I use recently expired domains which index naturally.

My site has this problem out of 54 posts, 24 posts are indexed or not indexed.
