Why get sponorships from channels?

I'm planning on making my own gaming channel and was pondering why people get sponsored by channels? Why not get sponsored to YouTube? Also, can any one tell me if TobyGames is sponsored and by what sponsor he is if he is.

I'm feeling this board is slowly turning into some kid's playground. Everybody discussing how to make their Call of Duty gaming channel bigger, etc. Don't forget, this board was originally made to: "Use YouTube to drive traffic to your site, CPA offer, or other affiliate program. Discuss your tactics here."

Well they're are other ways to make profit like sponsorships, unless you tell me Toby is not a VERY good businessman. Doing the same old CPA, affiliate, and other things will eventually need to step down for other/newer tactics.

All the Networks pretty much pay the same per 1k views.

I don't know why everyone's ragging on you. Sounds like you just wanted to hear what the reason was people were choosing other sponsors aside from just YT partnership not talking about making video game videos for fun. IMO your opinion fit in just fine with what BHW is about unless I missed something there...

That said in regards to your original question I would assume its the bottom line, $$s.

Ease up man. This forum is about SEO and making money and marketing in general - all of which relate to the question he asked. I agree there are a lot of crap threads out there but just because he's not talking about using YT to drive traffic to something else doesn't mean the thread is not a fit with BHW, people use YT in itself with the expansion of things such as the partnership program whereas many years ago people used it almost exclusively for either SEO (G loved to rank YT video at the top for a long tail with no backlinking to it for a while there) and also as medium to pitch a product or offer, etc. BUT these days a lot of people also make good money off the ads on their vids/channels themselves.
