is it still safe to make closed link wheels? i heard google can pretty much make a closed link wheel useless.. if they detect its a link wheel and they can do that very easily now

for this many people say that build open link wheels? now what is the use of an open link wheel? isnt it just simple backlinking.. an open link wheel is just like making 6 different posts on 6 different blogs without linking them.. how is that different than submitting 6 articles?

I guess you don't call it a linkwheel anymore than indeed.

and thats exactly what im trying to say here

Your still linking to both your blog / article / whatever and the next link in the wheel, you just dont close it up i.e. your last link doesnt connect back to the first link.

dont close - instead of making it a wheel - what about making it a tree like structure...

FP = Feeder Page - Links always flowing up.. or across

Code:
ROOT SITE
      ^
       |
      FP
       ^
        |
  --------------------
  ^ ^
  | |
 FP FP
  ^ ^
  | |
  FP -> ------------
                       ^
                        |
                      FP

also allows all the PR to flow to root :)

easy to add pages - dont have to worry what page to link too - any random page, will tunnel visitor/google PR

I still don't understand how that one last link in your "wheel" is supposed to effect ALL of your links to your money site. Is it supposed to create some sort of Google feedback loop that increases your link juice every time it goes around and sees itself? I don't get it. I just make links to my money site.

See, I've always thought the phrase "linmkwheel" was a little off, anyhow. Linkfarm. Dammit.

check out the link layer thing on this forum, cant find the thread now.

btw, i still close my linkwheels and they are still doing me good

what's the point of having link wheels at all?? when you can spam (for example) 20,000 unmoderated blogs and get links from high PR blogs

50,000 link xrumer or scrape box blast
or hours of linking 30 blogs together

or am i missing somthing

I guess it because the xrummer blasts could get you banned from G. Not that I know, just what I would expect.

Also, I think because each web 2.0 site has a relevent article posted, that this must carry more weight with google, plus these web 2.0 sites have high PR's.

behold, the almighty linksphere (with your money site at the center) :)

@kez1000 because link diversity is important, so it's good to hve links from blogs and articles sites besides comment/forum spamming

About the linkwheels, If you use a good ammount of websites, there will always one propertie that will be moderated one day or another, so it doesnt really matter imo.

I get it.. But the thing is i can get backlinks from any web 2.0 property, articles, forums, rss, bookmarks etc all high pr so whats the point of creating a link tree, wheel, sphere, pyramid, hexadecimal octuplet or what ever the next new link wheel metod will be called?... LOL

i done some link wheels..by the time i when to levels deep with the 2.0 i got lost and google kick it

It's simple guys, becose your links in your linkwheel are always about the same niche/product.

And for google that a BIG difference !

That way you can get to page 1 in google for your keyword with Only 20 backlinks.

What about this one?? isn't this very well arranged for big G to consider as link farm???

Yeah if google is really detecting linkwheels we need a new name for open linkwheels or a new method all together...

The linkwheels are dead thread calls them Link Layers, I like the sound of that

They are not as powerful as before but they still carry some weight...

They are not dead yet. But there are some pro and cons, thinking of x-rummer blasts or blog spamming you can get sandboxed but have in mind that google is smart and usually when you create a link wheel you're doing it with the same article but modified to be "unique"(unique my ass) if you guys think that google can't see that it almost the same you're wrong about it. The only really good linkwheel is with different articles. At least that's my opinion.
