Why doesn't my content awesome site rank well?

The site looks extremely average TBH. You should use some categories and explain what the site is about on the homepage and direct people to informative pages... you may have the best content but the presentation is rather boring too. No images, no formatting, nothing to keep people interested in finding out more. Also, I clicked a few articles and they are fairly thin and disorganized, its possible you got hit by Panda at some point.
I would suggest creating pillar articles and siloed menu that covers a broad aspect of all the categories (iron palm, iron fist, faqs etc) and then links to the articles from there instead of being splattered on the homepage. I see that it started in 2009 with the last update being 2014... you could also turn the homepage into a more interesting introduction page and link to relevant categories from there (info for beginners, techniques, knowledge etc).

hi. i took a look at both the sites. both look boring. I suggest you,

*add more images or videos (no one likes to read big blocks of text)

honestly, both sites look like they were made in 1999. Analyze your own site before analyzing a competitor's
how's the bounce rate? pageviews/visitor etc. Improve them and work on backlinks alongside with it.
