Why when I type this into google: link:**site*** it doesn't show anything? I mean, there are many pages that has my site's link on it...

Do I understand the "link:" feature wrong?

It isn't in Google's best interest to display all backlinks for a site. Try Yahoo! Site Explorer instead.

Hey man I had the same exact problem, its because you must put a space between the colon and your website.

    Example:

    link:mysite.com = wrong
    link: mysite.com = good

    try it. it does work.

The best way to check is to use backlinkwatch . com. It'll even tell you if your links are nofollow or not.

Yeah, it works, but it is definitely wrong. The hint of oldenstylehats is your friend, use the Y site explorer. What is also useful: look for "mydomain.com", it is not accurate, but gives you some (sry) idea about backlinks.
