why doesnt anyone ever talk about this method?

ok i know since nobody talks about this method there is something wrong with it, or everyone would be trying it. Usually if it sounds to good to be true it is, and im not sure but i think that might apply to this method.

couldnt everyone just sign up for a CPM paid for banner impression network that pays like $3 for 1,000 banner views...than just buy junk traffic for like $1 per 1,000. than send all the useless thousands of traffic to the site you made. Wouldnt this basically be like a stock investment that couldnt fail...you be payin one dollar for onethousand views and gettin paid two dollars profit.

i know the cpm banner companies would obviously shave pretty bad though, but wouldnt it still profit?

i mean you pay for 100,000 views for like 100 dollars...than cpm company would pay you 300?? 200 profit...

the reason im askin is cause if it was this easy everyone would be doing this, so theres obviosuly something wrong with this method that im overlooking. :scratchch

Those companies know when the banner never converts on your site. Same thing goes for all offers including CPA and adsense. Eventually someone buys something and if they never do from your traffic, then they will just ban you because you are of no use to them.

Agree with above poster.

If the network gets bunches of visitor that never buy anything then real people are paying you for nothing, they'll be losing out as you've noted yourself. If the network catches on you'll get a ban.

^^ right? here's something to think about, when companies are handing over $$ they have gone the extra mile to track and monitor. If they give you money it's for a reason and it's an investment. They make far more than what they give you...usually

Just buying junk banner traffic with no cookies allowed is probably not the best strategy. It is better if you can place an ad with demographic targeting so that it reaches an audience that might actually be interested in your offer. Some ad networks offer this, but until recently Google Content didn't and even now it only has a 90 cookie.

well, if no one actually talks about it, then you can safely assume it's not working.... and people talk... about everything

You could try setting up a landing page that links to your money page. You have higher quality traffic going to your money page, but it will be harder to achieve page views. However, in the end you would still need a lot more junk traffic to find the ones that convert for you.

It's easy and I used a similar technique a few years ago and made some decent money. The problem is that a company can decide to not pay and then you will be standing there with all the expenses. It's still easy money (CMP will eventually disappear) but according to me the risks are even higher than the reward.
