why does this happen with my links

why does google not show my links? it seems hopeless at times...any thoughts ideas?

I guess your links are not seen in the eyes of google to be good enough to be used in your rating.

I have run into the same issue, I had to leave for a month and couldn't get onto the net. When I came back SEO Quake displayed that I didn't have any sites on Google linking to my site. Before I left I had over 70, currently I am chalking it up to Google playing with their systems.

At best, Google and Yahoo Site Explorer only ever show 20-30% of a site's backlinks (based on what they show me for my own sites). SEO Spyglass blows those two away though and every Internet Marketer should be using it.

More importantly, backlinks influence your rankings regardless of whether or not they show up in these inconsistent reporting tools. Many never will.

Bottom line: maintain a consistent linkbuilding regime and watch the SERPs for your ranking movements (assuming you have picked a winnable SEO fight!).

These reporting tools mean next to nothing.

In my experience google shows only quality backlinks to a sites but yahoo shows all sites backlinks using yahoo site explorer.

I'm inclined to agree with Terry.

Get SEO Spyglass. It is the pinnacle of backlink checking.
