Why does it matter so much where you were born?

Between normal people,it's about the posibilities they had.
For government is just an acurate system.

90% of your 250+ created threads are located in The Lounge. I'd say about 25% of them have something to do with location issues. I don't know what you want from us.

that's why I love the lounge so much :)) most of the peoples post there all kinds of funny stuffs :)

You read it totally wrong, sorry. I meant that in general that the past 5 or 10 years is what governments should go on not where a person was born. I just dont like how the U.S. government likes to discriminate against people born elsewhere.

and you see '' N O W '' those discriminations :)? seriously ?

OMFG, I just thought it was for countries not in the VISA Waiver program.

It sucks that fingerprint changing surgery(basically skin grafts) isn't that advanced or practiced enough. I think its illegal in the U.S. for a doctor to do it,since a few years a doctor that was doing got deported. But if a plastic surgeon setup a practice in Cyrpus or another country with easy laws, they could make a ton of money.

hold on until the DNA tests / DNA fingerprints will be into your passports/driving license coded :) then I wanna see how you will feel when you have to travel lol .
people are monkeys and they love being part of a "team".

'' AMEN " :) hands down at least someone who can understand what kind of animals we are :)

With regard to DNA encoded on passports,it is already predicted by Interpol that criminals will have there dna slightly modified to bypass those measures. Ofcourse this is probably at least 15 years out.

you can't change your DNA :) ... well you can I think but most probably will transform yourself into a monkey :) .... and Interpol it's gathering the DNA since long at least from all west european countries :P .

Actually DNA can be changed but only slight mutations, but its still in the experimental stage.

Everyone entering the USA who is not American has there finger prints taken (possibly excluding Canadians due to NAFTA not sure). As for why we dig into your background is simple those countries have the highest levels of illegal immigration into our country. If you come from a rich country the odds of you pretending to be a tourist to illegal immigrate and work in our country is exceptionally low. Where as if you are from a very poor country the chances are very high.

TL;DR : its due to illegal immigration fears.

@roparadise you normally post interesting stuff.

this post is NOT your best work... lol

Illegal immigration fears are overblown greatly, even in a poor country,if its not close to the United States as in traveling by foot or bus, chances are few people are going to illegally immigrate from those countries.

1.Theres other nations that have become places to immigrate to(Canada,UK,Spain)
2. Plane and ship tickets are expensive.
