Why does instagram allows 32 people on a group chat?

Because its very unlikely you need a groupchat with more than 32 friends

32, 64, 128 and so on.

That has to do with bits. 64, 128 or 256 is also possible. Instagram chose this for their own reasons

It all has to do with the illuminati...... if you take 16 and multiply it by 2 you get 32 then you multiple that by 2 and its 64 so you subtract 32 from that number and well my friend your left with 32 and that's how it was decided.
