I think i have a good understanding of Pagerank and how i can use PR-data for doing better SEO.

But what i never understood: Why does Google help me with that?
Why is google publishing the Pagerank for all sites?

Look how difficult it would be to estimate the quality of (low-middle class) links without Pagerank.
Look how difficult it would be to build sitenetworks or sell service to people.

So wtf, WHY?

Yeah I'd like to see an answer to this seeing that PageRank doesn't even matter anymore according to what I've read. So what's the point?

My guess would be as a rough guide of domain authority.

PageRank is used as a trust metric: People who are looking at a site and are considering signing up can view the pagerank of the website, and "trust" the site more.

This is from Google.

So it messes up with your mind. Is Google's way to enforce mass control and brainwashing. Keep you hooked in lala land.

Google tells us pagerank may be due to following reason.

PR shows which sites are high authority sites so the users know the credibility of the page they are viewing.

I think it's just to provide a measurement of how successful the site is in Google's eyes.
Technically, someone who was looking into becoming a member on a site (or using a site in general) could check it's PR to see how legit it is.

I'm sure if they didnt tell you, people would find a way to beat the system anyway

But does anyone actually do this? I've heard this argument before, lots of times, but I think the number of people who aren't webmasters, who have any idea what pagerank is, and actually care about it, is probably rather small...

Page Rank = Indicator Of The Amount of Do Follow Backlinks Pointing To A Specific Page.

Thanks to the PR you can have an idea about how many links are pointing the guy.

After Penguin release PR is going nuts, I see 1 month old domains getting quickly PR 4-5 with few backlinks.

I think Google shows the PR to increase the user experience.

I have another question..

Why they choose the 0-10 scale instead the standard 30cm scale?
