This blog on my website was performing really well and then for no reason suddenly Google stopped indexing it. This happened for another good-performing blog too and it is confusing. I checked the metadata, there is nothing wrong with the [index] part in the HTML code.

Last time this happened, I was thinking maybe because of the URL redirection. I changed it back and no help for that. This page has no redirection. I use the GSC URL inspection and submit it again for indexing. I doubt that would help. And I don't know how to recover it.

Many one here has encountered this and really appreciate if you could share. Why and what shall I do? Thanks in advance.

Did u check Google Search Console, sometimes it shows the reasons behind the de-indexing

Did you get hit by any update?
According to the overall data, I don't think so. We are still growing slowly, or at least steady. Just the sudden deindexing of a page makes me really confused.

looks like you've been hit by the August core update (which was about HCU if I'm not mistaken)... I don't know how you can recover, though...
Oh right. You do remind me of the August fluctuation and we have climbed back now. But deindexing this particular blog...Well, I will check the update. Thanks!

Deindex the old. Just one specific old article.

No, I didn't find this page in the GSC index section.

Please read this post and start using multiquote when you answer many posts at the same time.

If your popular blogs suddenly aren't showing up on Google, first, check if there are any technical problems with your website, like broken links or server issues. Make sure your content follows Google's rules too. If the problem continues, it might be a good idea to get help from SEO experts to figure out what's going wrong.

What happens when you fetch as google in gsc?

İ think ita the august update but check your google search console

Possible reasons for de-indexing of the page:

Technical issues:

  • Robots.txt file: Check if the blog URL or directory is accidentally blocked by the robots.txt file.
  • Sitemap issues: Ensure your sitemap includes the blog URL and it's accurate/not blocked.
  • Canonicalization issues: If you have duplicate content with identical or conflicting canonical tags, it can confuse Googlebot.
Content quality:
  • Content thinness: Google prioritizes informative and unique content. If your blog posts are brief or lack substantial value, it might affect indexing.
  • Spammy content: Avoid keyword stuffing, excessive internal linking, or plagiarized content.
  • Outdated content: Regularly update your blog posts with fresh information and perspectives.
Other factors:
  • Recent algorithm updates: Google's algorithms change frequently, and sometimes a new update can impact specific content types or topics.
  • Manual actions: Check Google Search Console for any manual actions taken against your site.

You have to check for all the above possibilities that may lead to deindexing of the page....

Google took an update (Content Update 2023) at that time. Your site didn't pass the google's algorithm.
