Why does Google know my true IP address when using a proxy?

Its your flash cookies.
Clear your flash cookies and this wont happen (presuming your proxy is actually working)

If I visit google.com without using a proxy then close the browser...
...then switch to a proxy from squidproxies and visit google again.

Now if i google "whats my ip" google will show my REAL IP (I notice this as im on a static IP and I know my IP by heart lol)
But if I visit whatsmyip.org it will show my current proxies IP as you would expect.

Freaked me out first time I noticed this.

I use the "Better Privacy" plugin for firefox and make sure its set to delete "LSO Cookies". Solved it for me.

the solution was already written ...

OP do not use a browser plugin with your proxies cause the websites are you visiting can see that you have a proxy plugin installed !
stop writing just to make count posts ...

what about 2 level of anonymity? for example you have a vpn and proxies running

Just read through this topic, not really necessary to make a new thread when there's already a thread for it. So I clean my cookies, clear my cache and connect my browser to a private proxy from buyproxies, and yet still Youtube/Google manages to detect my real IP. I've read in this topic about elite/highly anonymous proxies but I'm not really sure what the difference is between private proxies. Also, if you have some good references regarding proxies like these please tell me.

Just noticed this thread I started back in February was still active.

Skimming thru the thread, it's funny how so many ppl assumed that simply clearing caches (flash cookies as well...) would somehow secure anonymity. NOT TRUE

In the past 1-2 years I can definitely say many sites have beefed up their ability to detect proxies. One in particular I personally use for marketing purposes, T$mblr (Tumblr) has certainly stepped up their efforts.

It's obvious they now have the ability to detect proxies.(and have for sometime now...)

I've seen a couple of guys on here speaking like 'experts' on the subject of proxies/anonymity.

Feel free to PM me if you know of any current methods and/or proxy suppliers whose proxies will fly under T$mblr's radar.

For those who are curious I fixed my problem logging into Youtube accounts without being detected. Apparently it's chrome giving away your real IP even if you use a third party plugin for your proxies. Also, cleaning cookies and cache + disabling flash didn't do shit. Just as BIGBIGBIGMamas said (what a name dude lol) this doesn't guarantee you anonymity.

Also, chrome:

A VPN serivce is your best bet. Everything is encrypted from your computer to their server. It will only give the ip Address you choose from what ever location you want from the VPN service. Only thing is, Proxies are a lot cheaper. Hence their unreliability though!

Can some one give me a few good VPN providers that i can look into....their are so many....al i want is to make sure that when browsing....no server can see my IP, don't care about torrents or any of thatjust want a RELIABLE VPN that will not keep logs and really hide me!Also if one knows of a VPN provider where the host site won't even be aware that im using a vpn...thats even better thank you!
