I see post after post on here about trying to launch accounts with USA audience and it baffles me.

I'm in the USA and I never even advertise here. We get such cheap CPM's and amazing views using European countries and Canada which allows us a way bigger profit margin.

I've been running ads for 8 years on all platforms and barely ever target USA.

Why does everyone feel like they need to have a US audience to be successful?

Honestly, I think a lot of people chase the US market because it’s seen as the “big money” zone, but they forget how crazy competitive and strict it can be. There’s definitely gold in other regions with way less noise.

Because it's legitimately seen as the one that will give you the best opportunities to make money

You’re right to question it ,most people don’t realize that the US isn’t necessarily the most profitable, it’s just the most “visible”. Everyone chases it because it looks like the gold standard. But if you’ve been getting cheap CPMs and strong ROI from EU and CA traffic, that’s the smarter game.

The US comes with stricter policies, higher competition, and users who are harder to convert cold. A lot of people just burn budget there thinking it’s the only way to “scale properly” ,but you’re proof that geo efficiency matters more than location status.

I think cuz US citizens earns more than average EU, AU, CA citizens thus spend more than other regions. Generally some of you may have noticed that most of the trends starts from US.

US market typically higher conversion rates: stronger purchasing power.

Many assume U.S. audiences are best, but Europe and Canada often deliver just as strong conversions at much lower CPMs. If you’re hitting your CPA goals there, double down—localize your ads and pricing, optimize checkout in EUR/CAD, and even explore other low-CPM regions like LATAM or SEA. No need to force a U.S. audience if you’re already profitable elsewhere.
