Why does a journalist fail to remove the nofollow tag?

Hello,

We have been featured in one article but the journalist/writer seems to always fail at removing the "nofollow" tag from the link while trying to update it. While some links in other articles have a "do follow" tag.

How should I explain to the writer in simple terms how to change it to "do follow" if all links are nofollow by default but it is possible to do it somehow?

Maybe they have an option for link settings and have to add "rel=do follow" or something similar?

Regarding your question... maybe they're not allowed to remove the nofollow tags, or they don't have access to that tag.

Yes, I know, but some other links have it and if added, the nofollow one disapears.

They do try to update it when we ask them, but it always stays the same. I don't think they are tech-savvy.

I am guessing they have something in the link settings or something similar.

just tell them to delete the nofollow tag lol. If they can add a d0follow tag they can also remove the nofollow one, it's not that hard

if deleting the nofollow tag is impossible then yes, whoever built that site (or has admin rights to it) uses a plugin that adds nofollow tags to links, in which case the people that publish your articles can't do anything about it

A journalist may fail to remove the nofollow tag because they are unfamiliar with the HTML code or the CMS (content management system) they are using.
