Why do you want to get into SEO?

Every day on this and other subs there are multiple posts from individuals looking to 'start an agency', or 'become an SEO freelancer'. They're usually in the form of 'how do I get clients' (as if that's the first question people should be asking).

I've been in the SEO game for 10 years running an agency. As a result of this, I get a lot of messages from random people either wanting me to hire them or they're just simply asking for advice.

So I'm curious. Why do you want to get into the SEO business? What is attractive about this?

(If you're a seasoned vet in the SEO game, chime in if you care to but I really want to hear from people who are either new in the industry or are considering it.)

I wanted traffic for my websites back then that's why I started doing SEO here and there.

For those who wan tto be freelancers and 'agencies', isn't it obvious that they want to make some money?

Isn't money an enough attractive force?
