Why do you use a Content Locker?

Hi, I'm new to IM and trying to get hold of it.
So what is it exactly used for (the CL)?
Let's say I want to upload files to sharecash, isn't that already "content locked" since visitors have to fill in a survey to get the download?
Or should I still use a content locker on the landing page and then, after the visitor fills in the survey, is allowed to see the website with the download links which contain sharecash links? :confused:

Someone please help me out.

Rather skip sharecash, and sign up at a cpa network that offers content locking.
This will eliminate the middle man (sharecash) and you will earn more.
 
Good idea, but can you go deeper into detail?
So now when I'm in a CPA network I will use their content locker.
Where should I upload my files then? And how do I use my CPA's content locker to "lock" the download links?
As far as I know, when you enter the javascript code for the content locker of a CPA network to your blog, the whole blog gets "locked", am I right?
 
I use it predominantly for Email List signups and occasionally pushing social sites likes, follow me's, etc. Some people are more fierce in their content locking.

Well first you need to get accepted into a network with a content locker. I suggest adworkmedia. Then, you just upload your file and share the content locked link.

It's just not that easy as you say, making a real lock takes a few things to work, otherwise people would just look up the download link through the source code.

I've been able to work this out as follows: User lands on a page --> user clicks the Download button --> Content locker appears --> once done redirect to a download link.
I've tried several networks and found that Leadbolt supports this whole process, get in contact with them and they'll help you out.

Why you would want to have your own setup? You simply earn more. Sharecash takes a percentage of the earnings, actually using almost the same offers.

The best thing to do is use a self hosted content locker like Content Lock Pro. Why, because you can use non-incent offers that convert 100% better. If you don't know what a content locker is Google it. Good luck!
 
You're just going to have to use it and see. That is the best way to learn.

That's something you need to learn yourself, you need to know bit of coding.
As I said, get in touch with Leadbolt's support and they'll guide you around. I could help you but for a small fee.
The files could you host anywhere you want, I have them on my shared account but I recommend using mediafire to avoid getting your hosting account terminated.
 
Thanks a lot mate. I've heard about mediafire before. Why do most of the people prefer mediafire over the usual file hosters? What's the difference and why doesn't the mediafire account get terminated?
 
Because they are hassle free. They don't use captchas or any timers and they are easy to use .

I specifically suggested AWM because you can upload your files directly to them, thus removing the need for your direct download link to be embedded in the page source.

Oh, I totally missed that one though I've seen it before. Thanks for the reminder. I was trying to implement the usual javascript locker before.

AWM = Adwork Media.
 
I just use it to lock content on my website.. easy!
Getting quality traffic is the hard part.
 
Sharecash, fileice they take a percentage of your earnings. If you have your own content locker its give you lots of flexibility.
