Why do VA's charge so little per hour?

No different to being an intern really.

The difference is some ‘third world’ places, you will have no chance at all unless you have a teacher.

Work cheap, learn quick and then sack off the VA work once people who once paid you, taught you their secrets.

Makes good business sense really

Minimum wage in the Philippines is about 75 cents per hour and a lot of people don't even pay that. About half of those jobs even require a degree lol.

Thanks for all the answers, I guess the days of $30 per hour are over. I used to make that about 10 years ago as a graphic designer for online casinos.

They arent over, there are freelance Graphic Designers charging more than $30/hour and getting clients.
