Hello.
The blog I operate is ranking on the first page for many keywords when searched from another country (the Philippines).
However, in the country I reside in, it either does not rank high or does not appear at all.
Why is there such a big difference in search results?
Also, how can I make it rank on the first page in my country as well, just like it does in the Philippines?

Search results can vary by country due to differences in user behavior, local competition, and Google's geo-targeting. To improve rankings in your country, try using a country-specific domain or set your target country in Google Search Console, and build more local backlinks.

The below is just the simple fix you need.

I won't advise you target a single country in GSE though, unless you're selling a product either directly or as an affiliate because it has its downside.

It will affect your global exposure, but leaving target location to international, and build backlinks on local websites can make your website relevant to your target location and you'd get ranked there, but not soon, it takes time.

Your blog is seen as more relevant to the Philippines. To rank in your country, target it in Google Search Console and get backlinks from local websites.

Search results might be different in different countries because of how people in those countries use the internet, how much competition there is, and Google's Geo-targeting. Use a keyword research tool to change the meta title and description on your blogs to help them rank better in your nation.

SEO search rankings differ by country for several reasons. Firstly, language and cultural differences play a significant role. Users in different countries use different keywords and have distinct search intents and behaviors. Secondly, geographical factors are important. Search engines consider the country - specific top - level domain, the language of the page, the IP address of the host, and the contact address of the website to determine the geographical relevance of the website. Thirdly, competition varies by country. The number and strength of competitors in different markets are different, which affects the ranking of websites. In addition, search engine algorithms may also be adjusted according to local regulations and user characteristics in different countries.

The difference happens because Google uses location, language, and local site authority to rank content differently in each country.

I think this happens when some sites exclusively target specific country. I'll recommend you get links from sites that are ranking in your preferred country. This might work.

This happens because Google search results vary by location, search history, competition, and user intent. Your site ranks well in the Philippines because it matches local relevance signals there, but not in your country where competition and audience intent differ.

To improve rankings in your own country, focus on local SEO: add country-specific keywords, get local backlinks, optimize Google Business Profile (if relevant), and build authority with content tailored to your local audience.

Each country database is different, and in Philippines your site may have less competition for the query.

Rankings change by country because Google uses local signals. If you want to show up at your country, get some local backlinks, use country-specific keywords, and set the target country in Search Console.

Google rankings vary by country due to location, language, and search intent

Try to focus on country-specific SEO: use local keywords, get regional backlinks, and target that country in GSC settings

The content might be more relevant in Philippines and google find it easy to rank there rather than your home country.

If the same product and SEO method of yours have different SEO rankings in different countries, it may be due to different interests, personalities, and user behaviors in those countries.
Because the system will analyze according to the user's search keywords (the languages of those countries are different, sowing keywords according to the user's psychology may not be absolutely accurate; the time users spend on the article/website is long or fast; they have a psychology of liking to read long or short;...).
You can review that information of each country to come up with the most suitable SEO plan.

Because a website relevant in Philippines might not be relevant for the UK audience, for example
And the same way around

Google thinks that your content is not relevant in your country. You can improve it through competitor research. If they're adding any geo-specific data to content, replicate it. If they're talked about in local groups, follow it. If they have backlinks from local sites, copy it.

You can also try to find keywords that get most of the traffic from your country. If you target them, you'll rank in your country and attract traffic for other keywords as well.

Search rankings change from country to country because several factors come into play. People in different regions use unique keywords, languages, and have their own search habits. Search engines also look at signals like domain extensions, hosting location, page language, and contact details to match sites with local relevance. Competition levels vary across markets too, which influences visibility. On top of that, search engines may tweak their algorithms to align with local laws and user behavior.

Search rankings vary by country due to local competition relevance and user behavior. Google shows results based on location. To rank locally, optimize for local SEO and build country specific backlinks. User google search console to monitor regional performance.

Hey John Oliver!
Hope you are doing good.
According to my knowledge the difference you are seeing is due to Geo-targeting and local search personalization by search engine. Possible reasons why your blog ranks differently in Philippines vs your home country.
Maybe your blog content or backlinks are more relevant to users in the Philippines.
If your content uses terms or language patterns more familiar or related to audiences in the Philippines.
I think the above are the possible reasons.
Wishing you a very good luck in sorting out this :).

That’s normal Google shows different results by country due to competition and local relevance. To rank in your country, focus on local SEO, backlinks from local sites, and check Search Console targeting.
