Can anyone explain, briefly, the point behind ebay stealth accounts?

Would I need one if I was doing Amazon to eBay?

Because eBay or Amazon can ban your account at drop of a hat, it's a good idea to have backup accounts around just in case something like that happens to you. To give you an idea how f'd up it can be, eBay banned one of my accounts after they called me to do a seller survey, and I basically told them that the crap they allow chinese sellers to get away with was ruining eBay.

So do people who do Amazon-eBay get stealth acccounts too?

lol that's sad. "Don't you dare tell us the truth!"

This is why people say to keep contact with eBay to a minimum on a stealth account. Any little thing can be escalated which can in the end get your account banned.

There are legitimate purposes behind purchasing/using a stealth account, one being that an individual lost their account due to a ban and they simply need another account to sell on (This usually being the case). Of course, there are also a lot of "not so good" reasons behind these accounts, there has been quite some issues in the past with fraudulent sellers on eBay using accounts of these sorts.

So I should use a stealth account for Amazon-to-eBay?

I am not going to be doing anything fraudulent/illegal but could be considered against the terms, but I guess there is no point in taking risks.

Yes, it's a good idea. However, a stealth account for amazon is far more complicated to create than ebay. Amazon checks their sellers thoroughly and will sometimes ban them for lack on info. Ebay is easy now because it's not even the same company as paypal anymore.

Yeah, but eventually you're going to have eBay police AND paypal police shutting down accounts, so get your stealths up and running before that happens. Eventually paypal is going to want to be treated like a bank instead of just a payment processor, and then it will be illegal to make stealth accounts with fake info.

I don't think that will happen soon. PayPal still not very trustful as may a bank could be.

So far, so good. There're still countries in the world that do NOT require to put any kind of SSN/SIN/NIN/CPF/etc. Link.

As long as there're still countries that do NOT require to add a local bank account to PP to "confirm" it, it's good.

This is by far the lamest thread I have ever read. Do you really think op that eBay and Paypal will just keep letting you sell again and again on accounts that are not stealth? I hope you don't have rocks in your head op.

Pretty much everything Tom said. eBay can and will ban you like this *snaps*

Stealth accounts are basically for people that are banned from selling through their normal accounts on eBay

I never truly knew but had assumptions, reading this thread kind of made me realize my original thought about seller platforms were right,it's just better to try and run a website and sell on ebay, amazon, etc on the side.I'd much rather make 2500-4000 on my own website than to make 5000-10000 on ebay or amazon and they ban me and leave me with nothing in the end without warning.I honestly wonder to avoid buying stealth accounts can you just make multiple different email accounts on ebay with the same paypal,I hear people say pretty often ebay's not as strict or even bright as Amazon when it comes down to these little things.I also didn't know Amazon was banhammer happy neither until now,I sort of always had faith in AMazon since I plan on going by the books doing things legit,I've even pretty much heard of a seller selling knockoff designer bags on Amazon(he never said it but it's obvious since every designer I can think of including the ones he's selling don't wholesale) making a KILL-ING every month and still hasn't gotten caught(maybe he has a stealth account now that I think on it)
