Why would a competent agency which has put the effort into scouting and finding a model turn around and sell the lead for a pittance of $100-$500 if they are capable of sufficiently marketing an account into even the $500 per month level? $500 per month after expenses, even if you're giving the model a 70% split, is going to pay for itself and even turn a profit in three months if you bought the model for $500. Any agency worth its salt should have no problem marketing even an obese troll doll into the $500 per month level.
It gives me the feeling that people selling leads are engaged in some sort of scam. It wouldn't be hard at all to just collaborate with the model and tell her to drop their prospective agent after a few weeks. Hell, if they're just selling the introduction, they could just tell them never to convert, and simply pocket the money. Then they could just sell the same model over and over for an infinite flow of profits with no actual product.
Has anyone here used a model marketplace to buy leads? What was your experience?
