IM is a difficult field. People tend to start a journey to stay motivated and keep track of their progress, but they are actually doing the opposite. I can't imagine all 100% of the journeys are even real, as some might use it to attract business offers or to seem successful.
Word to the wise - people who are making real $ from IM will not share their methods, journeys or any information which might disclose how much they are earning or how they make it.
In my journey I shared baseline methods, journey and any information which disclosed how much the journey websites were earning and how they make it.
Only thing is I did not spoon feed how to do it, im not building peoples websites. But if I say what I made something do with code, you can either go learn yourself
or get nothing. I did not have any super secret sauce hidden for this one, but copers like to think they fail in their own journeys because the people succeeding are always hiding some
godly life hack. This is not to throw any shade at you, I dont know you, but I just pointing out ive see many journeys that are real. Especially when you are already doing a method yourself
you can tell how real a journey is if it is in your own space.
I feel like I can try to answer at least for myself since I have one of the current running journeys
that has been updated for some months now.
Why I started:
I started it because I wanted to help people and show something currently taking over the world would
give me progress or if google would not accept it. Part of it was stemmed from my annoyance of the
ammount of people making claims on what is and isnt effective even though they never tested anything
and have no damn idea what they were talking about but were making endless posts saying it doesnt work.
The thing in question is Generative AI. I dont feel any need to hide the information because it is so big
it would be impossible to hide, so I figured I might aswell do a journey in my spare time as a little hobby.
Very little people in my personal life do anything on the internet for money, so it is hard to talk about the
things im actually interested in, so I felt like id get to have some good conversations. While providing a reason
for people to keep coming back.
This probably isnt what is the case for most people, im not struggling for money and have no reason to
depend on this website as it is just a hobby and not my main business.
Why im likely gonna quit (but havent just yet)
I do not have issues with many things in seo
Google and youtube provides so much information
that I self learnt most I know for free, and therefore I only
resort to asking people for information if it is something I
cant find on google.
That being said, the spoon feeding mentality has been slowly chipping away at me.
I dont have the type of conversations I hoped for much. (Thanks to all who I did have good convo with)
And I feel like way to often im just over and over answering the same
questions ive already answered because people refuse to use
the search function on the thread.
It is harder and harder to want to help people who are asking questions litterally answered in the opening of the journey or one click away.
It isnt that I dont want to help people who ask these questions but it is comepletely the opposite of
what I made the Journey to do. It wasnt to answer basic
"first website im ever making and I cant be bothered to google and read the snippet or use the search function or heck, even ask chat gpt who would also give the right answer"
Many of us have our own businesses to run, and if you run a business you likely monitor your time
because the time you spend goofing off is losing money.
Not that I think anything is wrong with enjoying myself, but if im not enjoying myself then their is no reason to continue.
Similar to the journey ive made on different media years before, while ill quit updating the journey, the model likely will continue for me and keep making
money, so it isnt a case of the business crashing for every journey maker.
Since the original reason for me starting is not consistent with what im experiencing, im likely gonna end up closing it,
mood swings is another thing, as ive been thinking about closing for a while, but when im on the lowest points I feel it more.
This isnt to say I now feel journeys are useless, because it was reading peoples journeys that motivated me
years ago to start, but as far as running my own, maybe I ended up becoming selfish because I cant be bothered
to have my time wasted answering questions ive already answered.
I like to think im a good person even though im not the smartest, but im not "good" enough to spoon feed.
I was NEVER spoon feed either so seeing people act like that makes me feel a way.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TLDR:
Started: Help people, Have good converations
Ending: People who wont help themself, Not enough Good Conversations.
--------------------------
Sorry to anyone who was on my post and feels offended by any of this, but I just wanted to speak my mind.
If I want anyone to take something way from this
for the love of god use the search function on journeys, it is not that hard.

And do not ask basic questions that is a litteral google search away in the featured snippet. What are you gonna do
if the journey maker doesnt answer? Quit IM????
Dont get me wrong, asking someone personal opinion is different, but asking something like "what is the best blank for blank" depending on the topic is a head ache.
Like bro, what do you want people to do? write a whole round up post and pay thousands of dollars to test every product for you?
Even when people give reccommendations it is disingenuous because it is personal taste and the opinion is not better than a random blog post you would have found if you googled
the same question, except the blog post would have given you all the stats and information, but instead you would rather ask
some guy named bob who has only ever used
2 products on the market
then you will still not even take his advice after he took the time to answer.
Jeez, this sorta turned kinda ranty. But just saying, do not be surprised I officially close it this month even though it is at all time high earning, not all close because they stopped making money.
No point in promoting a soon to be dead journey but the link is for the curious. Many people never think of things like how annoying some questions are before
starting a journey. I used to be excited to see a notification, but im sure going forward some of you might notice in journeys, the amount of redundant questions that are
constantly asked and pollute the thread.
Litterally annoy the creater out of their own Journey, or bore them out of it.
