Why do people scam?

they need fast money or it has become their habit

Yeah it's the habit part I was querying and hoping to discuss - the psychology behind there thinking, not sure why this has turned into a personal battle ground  As for needing money fast that's the thing - I don't think that's often the case since scams can take at least weeks, most likely months to set up and a lot of people are proficient enough technically to indicate they're comfortable and not live in Darfur or have three starving kids at home living hand to mouth.

Hope you don't mind the probing here guys, it's just something I was doing for a school project and was hoping to pick your brains for second.

Also, I just picked fiverr as a brief example because it's such an apparent example promising everything from enterprise grade web technology solutions to casting voodoo spells to destroy your enemies... all for like five bucks lmao

As far as Fiverr goes, I doubt if there are any scammers there. There may be sellers whose services may not match up to what is advertised in their gigs. But, as far as being scammed by a seller in Fiverr, the chances are extremely low. Moreover, Fiverr has the system in place to raise a dispute and even get a refund if it is justified. So, getting scammed at Fiverr, the chances are extremely low, unless ofcourse a buyer is a totally ignorant person not knowing what he or she wants and not knowing what he of she as a buyer should expect out of the gig being purchased.

More likely to get scammed on Twitter these days.

Why do people scam ?
Why not ask "Why do people get scammed ?". We do not ask "Why do people get scammed ?", because we do not want to accept the truth and the reality that stupid, lazy and idiotic people only mostly get scammed.
99% of people who get scammed are stupid and idiotic people who are incapable & lazy of even doing a Google based simple research.
I'm sorry, I will go as per truth and as per reality and I will once again stress on the fact that 99% of people who get scammed are stupid, lazy and idiotic people.
Why are such people so stupid, idiotic and lazy ? Why ? We are talking about people getting scammed, we are not talking about why people get scammed, we are only talking about why scammers scam people ?
There is a simple solution : People must stop doing stupid and idiotic things and people stop being as lazy as not using Google for a simple research.
When people stop being stupid, lazy & idiotic, then the scammers will run out of business .... Simple.

Seems like quite a cold blooded take on things but I guess that's one way of looking at it, although the underlying reasons why the scammer here feels that any victim deserves to be scammed would make for an interesting analysis to help here

Most scammers are just losers who have horrible lives. They got fooled one too many times by people smarter than them, so they go around scamming others in order to feel better about themselves.

Three reasons:

1. Quick bucks with the least efforts
2. Some people enjoy the adrenaline rush the free money gives
3. Some people just love to make others miserable
