WHY do people say making thousands online is easy?!?!

It's easy because it's low risk, high reward and it only costs you a little bit of time to learn the basics. After the basics you just get better over time and your income will grow with you. You have to make effort, but it's quite simple (read: EASY). For comparison: I'm transitioning over from online poker and that shit was way harder to do for a living (did it for 6 years). In IM you just have to display content online and show it to an audience. Find a way to get traffic, give people what they want and collect the $$$.

you know, if someone gaining money, it's mean that they take it from the other's pocket. So, you need to lose money before earning more and more money :))))
 
It's hard at first, so fucking hard actually. Once you get the hang of it, that's when it becomes easy.
 
I disagree with all those who say it is easy. The internet is incredibly fickle, I doubt anyone here has had a stable income for more than a couple of years at a time; it's constantly changing, having to adapt all the time.

The good thing about making money online, is that the world is at your finger tips, its a question of making it happen.

Because some of them want to sell their services and some of them achieve their goals with spend out their huge amount of money. LOL
 
95% of people who tell you that they earn alot are lieing , most of the times when someone earns alot he doesn't say it . anyways marketing is not easy you need to work hard to gain . :)
 
I have a couple of gigs, nothing special, just services offered from 1000's other 5verr members. Last year i got 3-4 orders every month without any effort by my side (promote my gigs etc.). Finally i get the level 2 after almost 10 months.
After 5verr update and redesign a couple of months ago i lost all the traffic i had on my gigs and i receive in this time (i think more than 5 months) only 2 orders for a gig a little bit more attractive than the others.
I agree with OP. Now you get orders only by luck (unless you have already build a client base and offer e service, people want to buy again and again, or you are a super seller, or offer something really original). Now first page is full of featured gigs and even when you search for something you get 75/100 featured gigs on your results.
 
Simple answer is because people don't have patience and want to get rich over night. The truth is if you add up all the hours it takes to start making decent money in IM it would probably be more than the average joe is prepared to put in.

PUT THE HOURS IN NOW AND YOU WILL REAP TH REWARDS.

You are doing that most people do. Since you do not understand everything you do nothing.

Let me tell you how I started. I got a 15 day trial of "Web page Maker" and built a site with it targeting pet products. I chose "natural flea remedies" because there were a lot of searches for it (I didn't even know the term SEO at the time, I was ignorant and clueless).

It was decent looking for a crappy site, and I researched every method of treating fleas known to man from food grade diatomaceous earth to essential oils.

I had masterfully crafted articles explaining each method, and added adsence to the site, waiting for the money to roll in.

The site was a great success, ranked quickly, lots of traffic, but no money came in. No one clicked on my ads for some stupid reason. I tried every ad placement scheme I could find and never made a dime from that site.

It was a success, but a flaming failure.

Why?
Because I had to learn.

I had to learn that "natural flea remedies" is not a buying word. People are not looking to spend money who search for that.

I had to learn that when you give a searcher the solution to his problem for free, they will not click on ads.

I had to learn that "evergreen" niches existed. That once someone came to my site, they solved their problem, there was no reason to re-visit my site.

So using my new insights, I built another site, a tech site. Helping people fix their computers, and put adsense on it. It was ugly and it made money. So much money that I decided to buy traffic for it. At $1200 a month, Google decided to enforce their TOS and ban my account for buying traffic.

I had to learn not to be greedy, and so it goes.

My whole point is:

UNTIL YOU DO SOMETHING YOU KNOW NOTHING, and you have a fuck of a lot to learn.

Doing something is on the job training. You need that to succeed.

The people who say it's easy are either been very lucky or don't know what they are talking about. I'm not gonna say it's easy, but will be worth your while once you make it? Yes! And, no, you do not necessarily need money to rank a site. Apart from hosting and domain costs, I've maybe spent 50 on proofreading services and that's it.
 
It's not easy. It's simple. All you have to do is ask the right questions and work smart.

This post actually makes a lot of sense and someone earlier in this thread said it well, that I would never know everything. I agree and I agree with this post and I probably do need to stop making excuses and get out there and start just applying myself and force myself to figure out the hurdles once I get to them.
 
Marketing was so much easier when i started in 98. The game now has completely changed.
 
Go into a niche where someone just can't walk in and copy what you do. Their has to be some sort of barrier to entry, and it doesn't have to be money.

Meathead1234 has long lasting connections with buyers and sellers which other people don't. Therefor it's hard to enter the market to compete, so he does well. However that's just one example that I think many people will understand.

Things like buying ScrapeBox/GSA or any tool and writing content doesn't really have a barrier to entry, that's why there's so much competition and so few people on here ever succeed with that 'method'.

Meanwhile a programmer on here might make some sort of auto posting to Twitter script that scrapes content, etc completely customized to his needs. That's a barrier to entry also, because most marketers can't program and most programmers can't market. The two also can rarely JV together because most programmers are closed minded and lazy, so you have to do it yourself or pay an arm and a leg to have someone do it very poorly for you which doesn't always work.

Time is the second thing that makes banking thousands a month hard, especially if you're in university or have a very demanding day job (50+ hours / week).
