I heard a guy say that they tried to sell three websites on Flippa and months later, still didn't earn anything. Is there a reason why?

Their websites were probably not worth buying. A website that is already making money ( with proof ) or a site that CAN make people money would be sold easily.

Lol Filippa is not a place where rich guys throw their money. If a website has no value (as many up there) nobody is going to pay ridiculous amounts.

Empire Flippers looks like it has better quality to be honest.

Flippa is not the same Flippa as couple years ago. They have changed a lot and in my experience I’ve seen a lot of decrease in listing views and bids compare to before. In my opinion they have lost a lot of users due to new changes in their website and rules. I would recommend you to look for other platforms. I’ve heard of Empire Flippers, maybe you can check it out. It just sucks that Flippa was dominating the industry of buying and selling websites, domains and mobile apps. Now we can’t find another option for Flippa and some of us are stuck to using them in order to sell their website.

I had many banned accounts on Flippa but I seen the views dropping and bids becoming less. Flippa's revenue been going down every year. They had the opportunity to become the Amazon of websites, domains, and apps but are failing now.

It really has to deal with the type site that he had as well as the content on that site. I am willing to bet that if you got the link to his listing it would be limited info on that site. New domain, next to no content in the description on the listing.
If you build a new site and you are just pulling content from other sites you are not going to make really anything.

You need to build a site that has unique content. Domain be older than that month that you just listed it to sell.

Flippa sucks these days but honestly flippa is only one part of the whole deal. The other part are actually the buyers.

I sold a profit-turning e-commerce project and now, months after i still get some messages with the question if it's still available for purchase.

So i guess if the project is right there will be legit buyers, even if Flippa itself sucks.

I have heard FE International and quietlightbrokerage are good alternatives currently...

Do you get anything useful for 5000$ or its better to invest this money in new project, what do you think?

Good question, There are many answers for you.

I have been selling internet Based Businesses and flipping eCommerce stores for the last 13 years! There are so many reasons why Flippa is NOT working these days. But aside from the buyer pool that Flippa has, it boils down to what you are selling & Who are you targeting when you post a listing.

Your Listing info is going to be your first step on getting an interested Party to reach out to express their interest in buying something. Really if your looking to sell something that is 100% legit. These are the things that will help you. If your selling a start-up website that doesn't have much history behind it. You're not going to get much for a sales price and you'll most lilkey sell it to something who is new to the space.

---YOUR SITE WILL SELL IF---

** You have a good website look and feel for the buyers
** Must have a decent Background on financials, Preferably at least 6 Months min. of regular sales that are stable or growing regularly.
** A website that has Organic Sales through unpaid avenues are going to really help make your site sell fast. ANYONE can build a website these days and just start doing google adwords and buy adverts through all the other places, Make money through sales and move on from there. Organic everything is HUGE and will make you stand out.

There are so many other things I can that will help you and I'm totally open to talk with everyone one-on-one if you'd like too. And if your looking for some help, let me know. I just so happen to have REAL buyers list of phone numbers and emails of around 56,000 people right now, these are all people that I have personally talked to over the years. This list itself is such a big thing haha.

I am totally open to helping you out if your interested.

Hope everything works out for you. Cheers!

I've sold quite a few small websites on Flippa over the years and never had a listing not sell. They were all high quality Amazon affiliate sites though with fairly clean backlink profiles. And they were all making consistent earnings - not a huge amount, but consistent.

I think it just depends on the type of site you sell. If it's something that offers some value and potential to be profitable then it'll sell.

There are better options out there now though I think. I sold my last site on Flippa the middle of last year, but I might try Motion Invest or one of the FB groups dedicated to site flipping next time.

For bigger sites I use Empire Flippers.
