Why do people get sandboxed?

Do people get sandboxed only because of aggressive linkbuilding? in that case wouldn't people be able to sandbox their competitors?

What did YOU do to get your site sandboxed?

So if I spam my competitor with 10 million xrumer links and 10 million scrapebox links I can get his site sandboxed?

How do google know the difference between somebody trying to hurt their competitor and somebody trying to boost their own site?

The most common reason is lack a patience. Buying a new domain and using automated linkbulding tools the first few month = high risk of sandbox (or unnecessary heavy G dance).

Yes and no. It's very rare that you actually know a competitor that has a new site, because he/she will not be on the first pages of G, because it's a new site.

If you blast a older site - well. You can get lucky and make the site disappear for a few weeks. But there is a big chance that the site will come back even stronger. I'm sure your competitor will appreciate that

sandbox does exist how it works nobody know

i have blasted my domains (directly money site) with almost 1 million scrapebox lists giving me over 40k backlinks and its doing quite good nothing happened

i have another domain did only a small blast of 2-3k links giving me over 1000 links and in a week i got nowhere in google from 4k unique visits gone to 30 visits (was it a panda hit or a sandbox have no idea) but that domain is doing nothing now.

lol that IS weird...Maybe if you do excessive, like 10 million, you won't get sandboxed because Google may think one of your competitors are trying to hurt you. But if you TRY to make it look "natural", by doing 100.000 in 5 days, yet it has a specific pattern that's programmed into Google's algorithm, such as all the links being forum profiles, you might be sandboxed...I think Google is playing some type of reverse psychology or something..

nobody knows for sure. If people could predict what causes the penalty, they wouldn't share it on here.

Well at least we can discuss it and if those that were sandboxed shared about what kind of link building strategies they used, we will be one stop closer to finding out..
