Why do my YouTube videos do this?

So im posting videos that are around 9-12 minutes long. Im getting good metrics on a lot of them, but for some reason they won't take off. So after a day they seem to get on browse features and im getting a lot of views from that, but then it dies down and the video seems to die too. I started posting on this channel over a year ago, but going all out with it now and determined to stay committed. Last time I was posting too many videos and doing all the work myself, not im outsourcing it.

Here is an example:


So it starts of slow then really takes off, only for it to just flat line more or less. Its getting really good watch time too.


It's also getting 6% CTR which is lower than usual for my channel, but this message is showing up, so it shouldn't be the issue here:


Here is another one that follows the same trend, only this time it has a bit lower watch time, but 10% average CTR (near 20% the last two days):


I've only just started uploading again now the last two weeks, so I might just need a little patience, but comparing these metrics to the videos I did before, these ones are much better. Is this a normal part of the process for a video or should I be working on something else? Would love some advice here.

Try looking for more "Mainstream" thumbnails and changing keywords, add something right at the beginning of the video to keep attention too (Most big channels do it showcasing upcoming parts of the vid and things like that) so you get a higher watchtime, cause it'll start dying down if you get less watchtime.

Yes it is absolutely normal my friend. Almost every video of yours will behave like that (growth for some time and then a flat curve). No video can give you all time upward graph.

I have been in Youtube since 2015 and have raised channels with millions subscribers. Many videos in my channel show the same graph and it is quite clear that it is normal.

This happens because there are numerous people uploading new videos every single minute and fresh content replaces old content regularly. Hence the video that is garnering views for you ceases to do so for a long time.

All you need to do is keep on creating god quality LONG videos on a regular basis and your channel will grow over the period of time.

I had the exact same problem but eventually most of my videos stopped getting any proper views. So, I stopped because it is time consuming and I thought it is better to invest time in my already established blog.

Im just wondering how it's determined if you have really low CTR or not, because clearly, having a lower CTR is not always bad, it can be great since it just means it's getting recommened to a wider audience, that's why all these guruses that claim "just have above X% CTR bro" don't really make sense. There has to be some kind of hidden ratio somewhere.

I agree. My most recent video is following this same trend but it never went above 7% ctr. The one before this it has great Ctr rate but only had a couple 100 views. Both had good watch time too.

What about engagement?

In one of my channel i Didn't upload for 30 days. Usually i get around 2 k per video. I upload daily.

Now after 30 days i only got 100 views. But you know what? My CTR is 18 %. That means my impression is low.

That means YouTube stopped my impression once i stopped uploading.
