Why do I get a "502 Bad gateway" error page?

Sometimes I get a
502 Bad Gateway

nginx

page, I couldn't find why sometimes I get it and sometimes don't, I use Firefox and use to open multiple threads at the same time

I also get this message when its around midnight in US (I am not from US BTW).. I guess the hosting provider does some maintenance or sumthing...

happens for about a couple mins (maybe even less but I end up getting distracted by something else) and then before you know it when you refresh it's back up and all is well.

But yeah bro, it isnt just you, it's all of us

PS: I am using Firefox and from Canada btw if someone is going to try and narrow down what the problem is possibly cause by. (If it isn't a quick hosting error)

Happens nearly every day to me somewhere between 8 and 9am GMT in the UK, but not for long though.

Ya I also getting the same problem if I stay morethan 45mins in our forum and after closing and opening after 10mins only I am getting into our forum nowadays...

This happens to me also. I think this happens due to regular server maintenance.

sure is because of alot of the BHW come on line to check messages and the server gets and overwelming request for the site

just my 2 cents

we are our own hosting provider, we run on a dedicated server, and yes, its when we are doing backups and checking for any errors in the site, only reason it appears is because we're being pedantic to make sure no errors appear in the site at any time

Keep getting 502 now and then too, so that's why, thanks trophaeum

However today is the weirdest, got 502 again, logged out several times and can't do multiquote post.

Hope the logged out thing has not something to do with someone hijacking my account lol
