I just noticed that some affiliates will buy proxy service. Why do they need proxies?
I thought affiliates just need to promote their affiliate links in forums and social groups, attracting users to buy in their link.
But proxies are used for change IPs. I can't see any association between these two things.
Do affiliates use proxies in a good way? I'm curious and worried because our company want to build an affiliate system for our product. I'm worried some affiliates will do something bad with proxies and earn commssions.

some of them will use 4G high quality proxies to trick networks and generate fake leads to receive commissions, others will use them to preview the offers they're promoting from different geolocations most likely for research purposes.

What do you mean generate fake leads for commissions? I thought you only get commission on actual purchase, is there program that pays for signups?

I think most people probably use proxies for scraping search engine results

yes there are many programs that pay for simple email submits, app downloads, surveys. no purchase needed.
yes many noob affiliates think they can get on a proxy and sign up 100x by themselves using fake info and get paid. this is fraud and is generally caught.
i agree imo most people who buy proxies are using them for automation software or to manage multiple social media profiles.

Yes, that's right. Some networks have offers that don't require you to make a purchase. @uncutu explained it well.

They might be doing some other work in addition to working as an affiliate.

If affiliates use proxies to preview offers in different geos, it seems there're many manual work need to because there're so many countries and regions. Is there any bot for them to do this instead?

Is there any methods that companies can check this kind of fraud?

Some networks detects public proxies but others are just hard to notice. But I am sure the network will shave here and then too. So, it's a fair game.
