Had a good campaign going for me on youtube with YourClick and affibank putting a good $800/per day in my account since the release of batman Arkham Asyllum and upcoming release of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 and assassin' creed 2 promoting a demo download.

An affiliate posted a vid response to most of my youtube game section vids in my account,
So naturally, i ignored/rejected his vid response because i do not want competition and ever since then, he's been posting all sorts of comment on my youtube vids, things like "it's a fake", "Don't listen to him people, i got scammed" now leading to a 1 in 200 conversion in what used to be about 1 in 80 conversion

I remove his comments manually but, to be honest it's getting taxing because he must be using some kind of bot to fuck my campaign.

If you are in BHW and are reading this, u know yourself and all i want to say is that "what goes around comes around"

counter it with commenting your videos and thumb upping them or hire someone do it :)

Two things and I really hope this helps.

1. Turn your comments off. As stated above.
2. Create another account and post another video about the same thing, put a twist on it and video respond to your own video. Make it something good. You know what I mean? With your other account you can also post a comment on your promoting account.

Hell if you pm your user name or whatever I will post a good comment on your video also, just cause I feel like giving today.

Just keep cleaning it up he will get bored eventually.

Turn your comments off. PM some of the people who offered to help and they will upvote it for you. That should do the trick. Also, watch the other guy's account, if he's a bot he will get the ban hammer soon enough, if he's a person, he'll have to watch out for his karma.

I'd agree with the others saying turn the comments off. If you can do $800 a day then why not hire some to favorite and rate the vid with a few hundred accounts too?

Yea as mentioned the easiest thing would be to turn your comments off so he can't do anything. Simple solution.

To answer your question "Why do affiliates fuck each others campaign like this?"

Greed.

Can't you screen the comments before having them being posted publicly?

If he's not making money from what he is doing, which I HIGHLY doubt he is,eventually his drive to screw you over is gonna wear off...

Then its back to business as usual...

Well you did scam him mate. So occasionally this will happen. They buy your product and it gives them links to torrent sites and they realise then that they can get it for free. Try making a site with a popup gateway or something if you want happier buyers.

$800 a day.. you should be able to afford this:

hire two outsourcers for $700 total ($350+350) and get iprental.

have them go on and rape youtube with positive comments and have them thumbs down your competitor. also have them 5 star your video. i think comments are good and should be used. if there is one guy saying bad stuff but what looks like everyone else disagreeing i think it is more powerful than no comments at all.

--------

what you can also do is make a video response where you say something like "i tried this out and this worked great... blah blah blah" and have it be a video response to your video. this looks WAY more legit than some anonymous guy on youtube saying "ZOMG SCAM ALERT!"

haha , dude is pissed off lol he wants that piece if your cake, but to do shit like that is freaking wierd, dude should concentrate his efforts someplace else

Getting vigilantes off your stuff is hard to do, but I think there are some great suggestions here.

I agree with Lurnme, though. I used to run a forum that would get all sorts of porn spam on it, but I kept cleaning it up, and after about 3 weeks or so it never came back.

samlexton, the same exact thing happened to me. I kept getting fake comments from fakers claiming viruses and fake stuff. I was converting at 1:100 and that dropped down do 1:400 (even lower at times)!!

I tried turning the comments off, however my conversions was stuck at 1:300!!
I believe comments have a very strong inspiration to people who actually will buy/convert!! So do NOT turn your comments off, hire ppl to thumps up and rate your videos. and remove/report tht scumbag's $h1tty posts.

Just thought I would give my 2 cents as I was in your shoes dude :)
