Very good question. I feel that mostly introvert people prefer to work online. But there can be exceptions to this as well.

I started messing about with free forums (Proboards) when I was 13 or so.
Quickly realised they profited from advertising, and the rest is history.
Left school at 15.... nineteen years later the decision to do this has served me well.
