Why did Reddit ban my old account after profile edit?

Reddit sometimes flags sudden profile edits on old, inactive accounts as suspicious activity- next time, update slowly and making too many changes at once to stay safe.

Profile edit on an inactive account seems like changes on purchased account. It automatically triggers their spam filters. You should've used it 2-3 days without changing profile or niche, without joining too many subs, and without too much activity (upvotes, follows, comments, etc.)

If your account was inactive for 2–3 years, a sudden profile edit,especially from a new IP, OS, or fingerprint, can easily trigger Reddit’s automated security systems. They often see that as a possible account takeover or bot signal. To avoid this in the future, reactivate accounts gradually: first connect using a clean IP (mobile proxies are ideal), browse naturally, interact lightly, and only update the profile after a few days of warm-up activity.

after a sudden switch to a different browsers, thats not the stock FF or chrome its a fork they immediately flagged it as suspicious, and a shadowban, very sensitive filters.

Welcome to reddit my friend. From reddit staff, to moderators of various subs down to ordinary users and even reddit support bots, everyone is paranoid.
I'm not sure there's any social media platform that's as demoralizing as reddit.
You could get banned for almost anything.

Before editing an old Reddit profile, spend a few days acting like a real user: join a new subreddit, post a light intro, and reply to a couple of recent threads. After that, change just one profile detail at a time each day. This “human routine” tricks Reddit’s system into seeing you as an active, normal user, so your edits are much less likely to trigger a ban.
