Why cloak?

Hi Everyone,

I would appreciate it if someone can point me to a thread or explain some of the purposes and uses of cloaking. I understand that it's useful in order to increase clickthrough from surfers who are averse to sales pitches, esp for a CB product, but are there other good reasons? Can cloaking help with google serp results on an affiliate site? What is the best way/tool to cloak WP site links and things to avoid? Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

not all people like links from others and just want to go direct to the site, which is stupid since it doesn't matter and they should thank you for find something

usually you want to show the search engines well optimized content and show your users a killer sales page .. many times those 2 pages will be different so cloaking enables you to show the correct version to the visitor (human / bot).
