What if the developer plan is to kill google then there will be no fees for sure and this is what we want lol.

they're very different products IMO.
ChatGPT gives quick, easy, shallow and often extremely politically correct answers, its kinda like a PBN. Google gives you options, and while many of the options are also shallow, quick and easy answers, if you search properly you do get good information. For example, many of my best search queries involve the search phrase followed by site:___________ (name of forum related to search phrase niche)

I think you should compare with similar lifetimes.
I also think that even though both may have common areas of action, each one has its special use and I think that it is possible for them to coexist.

ChatGPT has gained so much users in a very short while, it's safe to say it could defeat Google and gain better adoption if it starts producing more recent answers as well as making it much more accurate.

Right now you can't exactly hold Google responsible for information it produces, since what it does is basically link to the original sources. Unlike chatGPT that reproduces and makes it look unique. This essentially makes the job much more difficult for ChatGPT but if it's able to confidently handle that, then it would be a matter of when not if.

The reliability of the results is key.

I've been using it for quite a bit these last week or so, work-related mostly. It's been really good, quite happy something like this is available to the public.
Combined with Midjourney, fucking amazing.

It will be very useful for giving quick answers. Where in google we have to go to each site and find the answer. If people are looking for something important they are most likely gonna google otherwise chatgpt will be preferred.

If peoples are going to uses an app to get answers for their everyday problems instead of google, it's not just google that will be doomed, what would be the point then of the websites, and the whole web content ?

Even though ChatGPT won't benefit our sites, I still want it to crush Google just to put it in its place. Google has done enough monopoly.

Seems all the threatened legal actions haven't had any impact on Google.

Your right it won't kill of Google but your reason is wrong.

It already has that much of the internet I mean they just opened this thing....

The real reason they won't kill Google is Google would just buy it or release something similar if it gets too popular.

Just one more feature of Google before long.

AI won't be able to accurately tell if any information is correct or not and I don't even think there will be scope for SEO after 10 years

Google already has a better AI than ChatGPT called LaMDA. They don't give access to it due to ethical/moral reasons.

If they make it a part of the SERP some day, ChatGPT won't matter.

But it for so many users in few days . Internet took many years for adoption.

This site is fucking obsessed with this shit. God fucking damn! Every other post is about this. No, it won't make you rich or make you any significant amount money. No, it won't take your zero coding knowledge ass and give you pre-coded amazing projects. No, it won't power your future sites with content at zero cost and make you rich. Whatever you can easily do with it, everyone will also be doing, therefore rendering it useless. It's valuable as an assistant. It's valuable as a way to get the same information you'd get out of google, but quicker. But it's also incredibly unreliable. Anyone thinking this thing will work for them like a slave and make them rich is thinking INSIDE the box and will simply be attempting the same retarded quick money making schemes every other untalented hack will also try. If everyone is doing the same, then it's not viable.

ChatGPT is also much, much, much less reliable than people are making it out to be. Yeah, it can be helpful, but it can also be incredibly unhelpful. It has given me wrong code multiple times. It has given me false information about several topics. It has failed to help me multiple times. Last night i had to go ask for help on Reddit because ChatGPT couldn't figure it out. In 5 minutes got the answer ChatGPT couldn't give me in 24 hours. It's not that great. It will be one day, but right now it's just a fun tool that may or may not be useful depending on how it is used.

I actually can't wait for OpenAI to limit this thing somehow or put a big price tag on it so we can finally stop with the craziness around this thing and the desperation to make a quick buck off of it somehow.

All of the talentless hacks coming out of their caves to try to make a quick buck with this is starting to get tiresome. Plus, people trying to game the system with this shit, such as in school projects, will only fuel new barriers to the creation of content that will make everyone's life harder. It's like IG being a pain in the ass towards everyone, even without a legit reason, because it's so invested in stopping bots and spam accounts. This shit will get used and abused to the point where using the internet to make anything will get 10 times harder.
