Right now they are charging 0.02 USD (2 cents) for 1k tokens for their most powerful GPT-3. Or roughly about 750 words of content for 2 cents.

Since chatGPT uses a fine-tuned version of GPT3 (they are calling it instructGPT), pricing would prolly be in the ballpark of 5 to 12 cents per 1k tokens.

You're prolly get 20$ worth of tokens for free and then they will charge you in packs of 10k tokens.

Tl;Dr - if the pricing is as efficient as GPT-3. Look forward to paying $5-20 for 50k or more words of content generated by chatGPT.

Currently similar services like Jasper that uses GPT-3 charges anywhere above $100 per month.

Pricing starts from around 99$ per month for Jasper (previously Jarvis).

I am currently sharing this subscription with my friend. He had bought this when it was up for a LTD (lifetime deal) on a particular site.
That's why this account has unlimited credits. New accounts are capped at around 100k words or something.

In case you find something similar happening with ChatGPT with lifetime offer or something then make sure you grab that opportunity.

I'm guessing pricing might be similar but can't say what's in store for the future.

It would depend on your niche. For some niches, 10 articles could bring thousands of traffic whereas for some niches even 100s of articles couldn't bring enough traffic.

Yes, 50k tokens should be around 35-38k words. Its not fixed because OpenAI does not use a "word-per-token" tokenizer for their GPT models. They use a bpe (byte pair encoding) tokenizer that works at the sub-word level.

An article might need anywhere from 750 to 1500 or more words depending on the niche and content type to have an impact on seo.

But, i don't recommend you generate articles straight from chatGPT unless you stitch parts of the conversation yourself or use a tool for it. Its a model fine-tuned for "conversational tasks". If you make articles out of it straight you will waste a lot of tokens.
Instead, use it as a research/summarisation tool. It can be great at summarisation/giving facts and points about a topic (tho, the validity of such facts is not guaranteed) for which you can either write content manually or feed it into a model fine-tuned for article generation.
