Why Can't I Edit My Posts?

I am confused as to the rules for editing my own posts. I have seen some that allowed me to edit, but most don't. Is there a time limit or something? What is the limitation? If it is less than 24 hours, maybe it should be extended.

I want to correct some errors in my posts, but the edit function does not seem to be available.

What happened before was that users would come back days later and edit their posts only to destroy the whole entire thread beacause no one knew what the topic was about. I just updated and increased the settings so you now have one day to edit your posts.

Thanks so much. That seems more reasonable.

Sorry to necrobump this thread. But, I can't even edit the post that I posted few minutes ago. Any idea why? I'm just trying to correct grammatical errors.
