Why buy PVA if Facebook forces reverification?

What's the benefit of buying aged Facebook PVAs when nowadays Facebook often prompts for phone number reverification? More often than not you won't have any access to that number anymore and your account will be locked for good. Still a lot of people still seem to be buying them.

Even if you buy a PVA and remove the number, when they ask for reverification, it will still use the initial number that was used on it. So wouldn't it be best to buy non-PVAs and use them like that, and instead of verifying it yourself from start, you can just wait until FB eventually forces you to enter a number (that you own in case of reverification) and verify it. You might get lucky and so you'll not always be required to verify your account because it's not 100% certain in all cases.
