Why buy PR5+ sites?

I have an opportunity to buy some dropped PR5 sites

Im assuming the PR will reset when i buy so whats the advantage?

The PR won't necessarily reset. If the links that originally gave the sites PR5 still exist and they are valued the same by Google, then the website will remain PR5. Just check the backlinks in yahoo site explorer.
 
You can try, but I suggest don't waste your time & money. The PRs will drop as soon as the next update. Mattcutts has confirmed about those reset on expired domains, you can google it.
 
just make absolutely new site and 5-10 high PR links and wait 2-3 months and you have "good" PR site
