I use semrush to track my keyword positions and it's a premium tool. Initially, you can try with the $7 trial account and go for premium if you are satisfied.

Please, somebody at least mention search console. It's free and has more keywords than any other system out there!
For budget bloggers, I think we really don't need a rank tracker services. You only need to add google analytics (GA) and verify your google search console (GSC).
Watch it from that two dashboard. On that two, you can know which queries/pages/devices that bring traffic into your site.
The only cons: the data on GSC delay for several days (usually 3-4 days behind).
When you use rank tracker services, usually you only registered/listed several main keywords and its derivatives/LSI (limited on your subscription packages). Meanwhile on GSC, you will be amazed, what queries (usually long tail) that bring you REAL traffic. So you can improves your content based on the data.
But if you have spare budgets or want to do it for your clients, the use of this kind of services (paid rank tracker) will help you a lot and to ease the process/communication with them (the clients).

I don't find it as a must to use rank tracking tool. But, for business it surely help in collecting graphs, creating reports.

It's free, sure, but it lacks advanced segmenting and mining options. To fix that, I use SERPCheetah that allows you to query that data. Other than that, I use AccuRanker, SERanking and other tools for rank tracking.

Ahrefs or semrush all the way if you want to track all keywords. If you want to track long tail keywords then go ahead with serpfox, etc.
