why are you still using windows?

u gotta either buy a genuine version or just torrent one
if you mean newer versions you can download them for free from Microsoft website and there is a lot of videos on youtube showing how to activate the versions for free.
windows 7 lacks security because security updates have stopped.

A mac is by design superior to anything windows can offer, still people will choose windows mainly because they don't have all the apps and games their use to / like on MacOS.
As a laptop for example a Mac has a screen and build quality "to die for" especially if you compare it to the majority of laptops that run windows, even the high end ones struggle to compete with it.
The best laptop in the world right now is a Mac with M1, its simply a marvel.

I am using windows 7 still and have no complaint, probably security issues here and there but yeah it’s part of exposing ourselves to the internet

Linux is a little bit difficult to use than windows but more secure

Yes, it is the only reason why I use windows in virtual systems.
If there were more alternatives, I would not work with windows.

As Windows User, I envy how good macbook currently is. Long battery life with no heating, which is impossible on Intel based laptop

Windows 10 is nowadays pretty stable and secure, as long as you keep it updated.
It's slow compared to Linux, not a single Linux distro has as many features as windows do.
It's only fast as your computer is. If you have an old potato with a spinning disk, for sure it's slow...
You can turn most of the tracking features off.

windows is not secure.
windows lacks in customization.
windows forces you to trust Microsoft with you privacy.
windows is slow.
why haven't you switched to Linux already?

Because linux is a server OS. It's not ideal as a desktop OS.

MacOS is unix. It's based on bsd.

And it's far superior experience wise and speed wise to linux and windows.

There's no practical difference between mac and linux. I spin up terminals all day on my mac and run the exact same commands I use on my ubuntu 22.04 servers.

Ok switched to linux now: how do I launch my fav games now?
I am using Lutris for this, but that's because I'm against ALL 3rd party scams (Steam, Galaxy, Epic, etc). But if you have them on Steam you can use Proton. And I think you also need Wine installed (although, Proton will probably install it when you install Proton, so nothing to do in that regard).

But in all seriousness, just google for this as this has been a hot topic for years, and I'm sure you'll find a lot of good answers, but nowadays you can easily game on Linux (except for a few games whose titles I don't remember cause I've not been a fan of those games, but otherwise 99.99% of the games work on Linux, even better than on Windows even, which is fun...)

Because in the 80s, Windows was the seed after using MS-DOS for a few years. Since then, I have grown like a big tree with large roots. Trying to change the roots is like trying to change the whole tree. I find it hard to become another tree.

As a linux sys admin. for business linux it's waste of time. if you wanna get some work done you should use WIndows/Mac and not waste ur time configuring some things.

I switched to a Macbook a year ago and I can say it's way better. I'm 100% satisfied. But it's not bad to have regular Windows on hand just in case.
