Brave browser is good but it definitely went through some growing pains. Some versions were so dog slow I had to go back to chrome. But the most recent Brave is pretty fast so I have switched back to it. And now I'm earning BAT I can actually withdrawal, so that's kind of nice. If I ever decide to become a publisher, perhaps I could earn even more BAT, then cash out in a few years. I call it lunch money.

I am using Brave on my laptop now...thinking this can be better than Chrome.

Switched recently from chrome and the experience has never been this good. No more ads and annoying popups. And it's blazing fast. You even get to earn some $$ with this thing!

Yes Brave Browser is perfectly fine and safe to use. It's actually a lot safer than most alternatives because they fixed a lot of vulnerabilities and it doesn't save your user data in such an agressive manner i.e. Chrome does.

Brave is based on Chromium.
Chrome runs on Chromium, but so does Vivaldi, Opera, Slimjet, and many, many other browsers.
Chromium is open source software that acts as the software that connects the computer to the internet. Chrome adds sync and other Google connectivity and interactivity. Chromium does not track, send home to Google, or anything else you might be concerned about. Chrome does those things because Google made it do so.
It’s no different than the Gecko engine that runs Firefox also running Seamonkey and Palemoon browsers.

it most definitely not insert virus in your pc. i would say that it is safer and faster on both mobile and desktop, in my exp. Had some bugs in previous versions, like crashing from time to time when yubikey was inserted/taken out, but for the past few months, no probs at all

your internet provider submits all your data and history to the goverment anyway and windows & apple do also cooperate with the goverment.
so... use your brave browser buts its useless unless you are using a virtual linux system with vpn... and even then there is a slight chance that they still can hack into your device..
