Why are you in SEO?

I like SEO because it feels like solving a challenging puzzle. You have to unlock all the doors in your mind and think in six dimensions to discover ways to boost site authority, drive organic traffic, and ultimately get first page rankings on Google... Lol

Its a fun challenge to try and see what needs to be done to rank higher. I use SEO for my job as a writer and when I look at frase to find which terms would strengthen my piece's SEO percentage, it actually helps improve my writing.

SEO is something profitable when done efficiently. Otherwise, you will be spending too much and earn less.

I always use the example of building a $1 million dollar website. You can spend 100% of that on the website (design, development, copy, images, video productions, etc. etc.) but when it launches no one will visit it without any marketing. If you split that budget 50/50 between the website it may not look as nice but you'll have WAY more people coming to the website when it launches.

For a business, at the end of the day, is it more important that people find it, or that it is very pretty? You can always improve how a site looks, but it's important to invest in SEO/marketing early so that it can slowly build up over time.

This is an oversimplification and it assumes a brand new domain, etc. but that's why I love SEO. I'm originally a web developer and I realized that when clients asked me to 'make me a website', I eventually realized it that they meant, 'i want to make money online'. Then I started having less conflicts with my clients and I could choose who I wanted or didn't want to work with.

Marketing gives power to the client, and to me. Win-win.

I like seo cuz its "easy" throw up some articles let it sit and wait if it gets traffic then spend some more time on it.

I’m into SEO because I love to see businesses grow by getting them more visibility and a good amount of traffic online. It’s also super satisfying to solve problems and analyze what works the best, and see some real results. And, it’s always changing, so there’s no chance for a dull moment!!

Do you even have a choice? try to earn money from content with internet than no matter which method you use, it will interact with algorithm.

It's validating seeing how your efforts can... money, just the money really.

I kind of got thrown into it. Back in 2007 I worked for a site that got 4-5 million hits a day. We didn't need SEO and I don't think we got GA even hooked into the site until 2010 or 2011 because the owner didn't trust Google. But after we got hit hard by Penguin and Panda, we got it up there. I think that's when I started getting interested in SEO since it was the way of the future and started a few of my own projects as proof of my SEO skills.
