Why are there so many refunds / chargebacks this year?

I'm promoting ClickBank products since 2011 but this year the refunds / chargebacks rate seem to be worse than ever.

Who knows the reason?

There isn't a one single answer for this. The odds are the offer you're promoting isn't fully delivering whatever it is promising in it's sales letter.

I'm promoting at least 20 different offers

I hate that also. Happened to me multiple times last August.

What I personally believe (even if I'm not 100% sure) is that asking for a refund has become easier than in the past... so people buy an ebook, read the information they need .. then ask for a refund and ClickBank give it to them in 5 seconds

In my experience it's the same as it was years ago.

Then you have no choice but to issue the damn refund. scks really

How much do you earn per month on average?

Clickbank has always been high, I'm talking like 30-50% on average depending on the niche. The main 'problem' is that people know Clickbank will issue a refund regardless of the reason and it seems once people are aware of this, they abuse it. I've never understood why people chargeback though, the process of obtaining a refund is pretty much instantaneous.

how did you promote your clickbank? using facebook ads / google ads / seo?

for me seo / g ads lower refund rate compare to traffic from facebook ads

Refunds/chargebacks have to be factored into the costs of doing affilliate business. If the rate is up to 50% and your desired net sales (permanent, not refunded) is X per month, scale your maarketing to attain 2X per month, that's all.

I do not work with CB anymore, but sell plenty of digital products each month.

The last 6 days (starting on 1st September) I had the worst refund ratio in years (almost 25%).
Interestingly enough, in August I didn't have a single refund request all month long.

90% of my customers are from US. Does this have something with the hurricane? Bad weather? News about upcoming recession hitting people from every corner, so people start to try to save buck anywhere they can? Trump idiocy?
Can't really figure it out. Let's see how the rest of the month goes.

maybe now it's easier to have a refund from cb than before...not sure why....i have a similar % tho, maybe a bit higer actually

Like the BizCat mentioned a lot depends what they are promised in the sales letter and what they actually get when they reach the members area.

For instance some of the make money products alluding to overnight riches well then of course when you reach the members area and realise it's not as easy as they make out then you will be disappointed and ask for a refund.

I find if you underpromise and overdeliver you will have a happy customer in general.

Wow that bad huh? I guess people have become sneaky. Which country are you targetting primarily? People is some countries are sneakier than others lol.

1. oversaturation of trash products
2. more people actually knowing they can chargeback

I think it's because US customers are too spoilt and think they can do whatever they want, refund for any stupid reason or no reason whatsoever. Tow of the biggest companies Booking dot com and Amazon make refunds and cancellations way too easy, and there's nothing to protect the vendors. I know booking, amazon and clickbank from a vendor side, they are all about the customers.
