In an attempt to do some analysis of why shitlist threads are so popular here despite the fact that there aren't any "money-making" methods in there, I've made this interesting poll.

Throw in your opinion folks and reply with reasoning / further details if you wish. :)

What LBrown said. People have that wolf mentality and love ganging up on someone. Once the mob has decided you're guilty, there's no use in trying to present your case. Everyone will support whoever the majority supports.

Plus, everyone loves drama.

so far the TOYO one was the most fun. Illegal, lots of money involved, mods exercising discretionary powers, OP running away despite being offered a $2k refund, both users getting banned, etc.

I ran to 8 pages within hours after it went live.

How about our "vegas kid" ???

they are interesting because everyone wants to find out if the shitlisted user deserves it or not

Like someone said here, it's human nature :)

And Everyone Loves Popcorn.

There are strong evolutionary drivers for gossip. Rather than just being idle, entertaining chit-chat it actually is instrumental in bringing a community together. Also, the desire to police behavior is strong in many people and a forum is great platform for bringing that behavior to the forefront.

And frankly a good popcorn saga is far more fun than watching the crap on TV. It's like reality TV without the Snookies! ;)

Primarily to know who you are dealing/have had dealings with in order to protect yourself from these scams in the future. It's not a playground

Because at one point or another we have become victims of an on-line scam or fallen prey to something similar.

Even though we ain't being scammed directly by the person shitlisted it just feels like it could have easily been you so you wan't that person get what is coming to them.

I miss the option: Rollerblading bunny's with chocolate sauce.

Cheers

It's human nature, everyone wants a go at the guy who's falling. Sometimes is reasonable, if the guys been a jerk, but othertimes, everyone just wants to get on the bandwagon. Mainly just to get some relief from the stress IM has.

Well said. And this is why my countries legal system (America) has been going to shits for years. No more innocent until proven guilty. It's guilty until proven innocent.

You seem to think everyone is Mugshots, I've seen you posting about that before. Grow a pair and mind your own business.

Wait....Mugshots? :D You in Vegas bro!?!

The only place were we can talk about of Chunckloads of money, and the only place where even every single one in the forum can flame the dude :D

I find them good to read when im chilling out and not working, its like reading the newspaper only you get both sides of the story in the one place.

Toyo is the best guy ever lol. Rep abuse, Hiding behind rules,he wanted to move blackhatworld to another host, he want op to reply to him in x hours or else he calls himself the winner, polite replies :D, respect to mods ( :D ) and what else?

Let me quote this. From BHW IRC

<+toyo_> lol, If I attack, bhw will be down for a year, and the list of members and passwords will be on pastebin anonymous style

Yo hacker boy..! Got his ass spanked for 6 months, and got it torn apart for the whole life for the polite behaviour :D
