Why are redditors such pricks?

OK, I understand it, they don't like marketers so if something is marketed to them they dig and investigate.
I think redditors have too much time on their hands so they are bored.

Some mods behave like they are the most important people in the world.

And why is it so difficult to get abandoned subreddits? some subreddits have been inactive for years and still it's tough to get them. What's the point of having dead subreddits?

The Admins are working on 'name squatting' for that exact problem. There are indeed some moderators that spent a few hours per day clearing posts from people. But that is only a really small percentage. top 300 subreddits, have at least 1 person that spents 5 hours a day moderating.
 
The thing is people are smart enough when they market on Reddit.
Your marketing process doesn't need to look like it, don't spam, be natural it's hard but pay off after.

I have no issue having an inactive subreddit.

You need to be more subtle with them. Yes, they are a little bit smarter and more tech-savvy than on other platforms, but in general they are still dumb. Instead of saying it like this:

Hey guys, check out this new product I found called XYZ, they are awesome and the best thing I found for this problem! Trust me.

You need to say it like:

Anybody have any recommendations for ____? I tried out XYZ, and it was pretty good. I was also looking at giving ABC a shot as well, but haven't gotten around to it just yet. [insert filler text about subject]

Use a different domain to redirect to your offers so they don't look suspicious. Also post some normal comments here and there without promotion/links cause many of them will look through your history. If you can buy an aged, real reddit account with 20K karma and history of shitposting, even better.

It was my first time applying for 2 abandoned subreddits and after manual reviews i got rejected (2 different accounts). Any suggestions?

Guys, thank you for the great replies.
Sorry, I didn't make it clear but I don't spam there (OK, maybe a bit to get karma, so I got banned a few times but only for getting karma, I used 3 year old images and reposted them on aww).
My idea for reddit is completely different from others... I don't spam and I do participate in discussions and provide answers if I can and NO, I don't insert any links or any promotions at all.
It's just I find mods and some users kinda rude.

Recently, I ran a thread here about how good reddit d0follw links were and I commented in relevant subreddits to get more link juice to my profile and then to my subreddits. As I was helpful and honest I got plenty of upvotes on my comments. Just to prove you that I don't really spam.
 
Don't give up then, keep checking for inactive subreddit and request them.
 
I get that this is a marketing forum, and a black hat one at that. As such, I'm not expecting this comment to be particularly well received.

But maybe take a moment, and a deep breath - then ask yourself if the real asshole here is the one trying to keep you from spewing shit all over every corner of the internet, or the one that can't conceive of why anyone would want to do that.

Reddit is the front page of the internet. If shit belongs anywhere it's there first ;) honestly I don't know why they police it so hard - anything that goes against the view of the mod in that section and you're banned / flamed.

Also seems to be worse the less political the subreddit..

Yes, that's exactly my point. If you disagree with the mods in any way, they'll ban you or tear you to shreds.
The same goes for so-called 'influencers' there.
Don't you dare disagree with them.

I like the posts on there but not the people. They can be real jerks and not even realise it.
 
You don't browse reddit unless your the least bit geeky. Stands to reason that they try to nail us.
