Why are people hiding their tracking links?

When people post their tracking links, they usually mask the domain name, even if it's used for tracking only and no other offers are running on that domain.

This is an example from CPV Lab:
http://hiddendomain.com/tracking/base.php?c=7&key=4149d4fbb15dca5e0fcf0bd62a21d2a0&keyword={keyword}&ad={AdId}&query={QueryString}&match={MatchType}

What are the reasons to do this?

Protection from manual and or automatic reviews and to prevent a possible footprint. Also could be redirect for link juice OR it could be so that they can changer the link after it's inspected to the REAL link. Tons of possibilities, could even be SSL related I can think of too many reasons.

What about posting these links on the public forums or webpages? Most of the people hide them. Someone's real domain can look like this:

http://[B]realtrackingdomain.com[/B]/tracking/base.php?c=7&key=4149d4fbb15dca5e0fcf0bd62a21d2a0& keyword={keyword}&ad={AdId}&query={QueryString}&ma tch={MatchType}

However, when they post it on the forums (as examples) they change the domain name to:

http://[B]xxxxxx.com[/B]/tracking/base.php?c=7&key=4149d4fbb15dca5e0fcf0bd62a21d2a0& keyword={keyword}&ad={AdId}&query={QueryString}&ma tch={MatchType}

I see this a lot in various tutorials for CPV Lab or Voluum. So if I have a problem with my tracking, for example, and come to forums to ask for help, I'm not sure, if I should post my full domain or "hide" it. The domain I use for tracking is for tracking only and I don't run any other websites or offers on that domain.

because ppc and ppv companies(like facebook ads and google adwords and leadimpact ....) dont allow advertisers to put their affiliate link directly on their comagnies and also to protect the affiliate link from competitors or spamers frauds

This means I cannot put any affiliate link anywhere on facebook without cloaking it?

They do this so that people or bot can't identify the link, also to avoid leaving footprint.
