hi everybody,

i just try to surf without antivirus

i have a computer with 1 giga memory and a professional i know tell me my antivirus "eat" 600 mo.

Is it normal an antivirus use so many memory ??

and is it risky to run without virus? i have seen when i downloads program in blck hat i get a lot of spyware adwards you too ???

get better av, kaspersky is good, also get another gig of ram, 1gig aint that much no more and ram is cheap, dont run without av if you arent confident about running without it!

i use live one care - when it works its great as it has a firewall, antivirus and backup services, i run on 4gb but even then it slows down usually after a few months it seems then i end up reinstalling everything... also another thing ive noticed that slows done the pc is my ie7... i think it might be one of the toolbars i have installed... not sure yet but sometimes i look and its using more memory than photoshop!

thanks a lot for all info tomorrow go to shop with all mimes computers infos
and if i can get more memory i would like 4 gigas minimum would be nice :-)

thaks for all have a nice day :-)

one care is completely useless, take this from someone who has been doing ppi for a little while now, its the easiest to get past, kaspersky is the best for finding them

perhaps this is why my pc starts slowing down so often! mmmm

go download firefox 3 beta 4 and get yourself kaspersky, you wont regret either of them

Kapersky or Avast anti virus work well and don't bog you computer down. Get anti spyware...spy catcher or windows defender(do not get windows livecare).

I recommend NOD32, if you have a slower computer. I like Kaspersky too, but it usually slows my PC down considerably. NOD32 is programmed in ASM, which makes it very fast and leaves only a very light footprint. And it's detection rates are right up there with Kaspersky. In fact, some will say it's even better?

You'll also need a decent software firewall, so check out ZoneAlarm or Look 'n' Stop.

For anti-spyware, use SUPERAntiSpyware (free) and SpyBot. The Norton spyware program that comes with the Yahoo! Toolbar isn't half bad either, for a free program.

NOD32 is the best by far, i LOVE it.

Where are the Nod32 (expire in 35 odd years) download links???
Actually the 35 year expiry link is not working anymore.
