Why am I Ranking Well in Other Countries?

I have a keyword for which I rank very nicely in the following countries:

1. Lithuania
2. Singapore
3. Romania
4. Hong Kong
5. Morocco/Nigeria etc

But in the US version of Google, I rank #18 . I've not deliberately targeted any of the above countries, my site information is global in nature.

What could I be doing right for some countries and not doing right for the US? Everything is in English, I use a ".com" domain...so what gives?

These are countries where there's an abundance of younger people using the internet under your search term and since there's a lack of information available in their language, they gobble up all the english search terms, making them popular in the eyes of Google even if it isn't their native language.
