why am I not making $20k a month?

I have come to a realization recently. I should be making $20k a month, but I am not.
How did I come up with that figure?
Everybody needs SEO services. Lets say of the thousands and thousands of businesses that need SEO, 10 of them sign up with me. I charge each one $2000 a month. That's $20k a month.

are my numbers correct? sounds a little too good to be true. Can you really make $20k a month by having just 10 clients? $240k a year? I can buy a house in cash after 2 years?

If yes, then what the hell am I doing sitting here?

$2000/Month for SEO. With that price you wont have any clients unless you REALLY know your stuff.
 
I should be making 200k a month in SEO, you want to know why. Well 100 people a $2000 a month = $200,000. You want to know why I am not making $200,000 a month in SEO? Well I am not trying to, like i suspect you are not.
 
Not many people are going to pay $2000 per month for SEO unless you really have something interesting up your sleeve.

It's easy to pluck a few numbers out of thin air and do some multiplication. Put yourself in the shoes of a local business owner. Are you bringing them substantially more than $2k worth of business per month? Can you sell them on the initial sale? Sh*t, can you even get a meeting with them? Then, once they fork out the $2k/mo to you, how much of that will you spend on linking efforts? Half of it? What if $1k isn't enough... you spending all of the $2k now?

Don't get trapped into thinking "it's as simple as just getting 10 clients" and start feeling bad about yourself... not a good place to be mentally. Just start doing something and enjoy the ride.
 
Why? Because you haven't started trying to make $20K per month. By the way, you don't have to do it by offering SEO services. There are other methods some of which are easier than offering SEO services.
 
$2,000/month clients are NOT the most common though. I'd say that on average it's more like $300-$700/month. All depends on what you have to leverage, but it is NOT as easy finding reliable paying clients as people seem to think. Otherwise we'd all be making $1,000,000 a year.
 
if you can charge 2k per client, so you can rank your sites and make 20k byyourself.
 
even if you get 10 clients and charge them 20k per month, you still have expenses to cover whether its in the form of freelancers and writers, automation tools or pbns unless you somehow manage to do everything yourself and cut down on expenses. That 20k/month can easily end up being 5k-10k before taxes which isn't too bad
 
Yeah, some business don't make up to $2000 3 months.. Who do you plan on contacting anyways? or how can you get this customers? i know how exciting this idea is, but cool down a bit and think about it again.
 
You're not making $20k a month because you've not taken the steps you need to take in order to make $20k a month. I thought that was pretty clear and simple to see?
 
Hey man, if you're a great salesman with the right target... You'll exceed your numbers.

But with a little multiplication and no game plan... you're screwed.
