Ahrefs’ DR is purely a measure of a websites’ "link popularity"(as measured by Ahrefs), but it can be very useful when you look at it alongside some other sitewide factors.

The only important thing is, that u get traffic. Traffic that cares for your content. If you got real traffic then google will love you. Backlinks are just an option to get a reference if your site is ok, or a reference for potential traffic. But i use ahrefs as indication, if a site could be good as well. As you said not a single site that got real traffic would try to get shit links to boost their seo.

Both Ahrefs and Moz have different metrics. For Ahrefs it is UR (URL Rating) and DR (Domain Rating) and for Moz it is DA (Domain authority) and PA (Page authority). And For me I preferred Moz.

Ahref is far better than Moz. My all sites have all data from ahref

I would never judge the performance of a website based on Ahrefs rating. But it's a good indicator on the link profile, especially if you are doing bulk work.
For example, if a website has 2 DR - then it's most likely not worth my time. If it has DR 60, then it's worth looking in to. I will then check if it's spammed to death or actually have valuable links pointing to it.
I believe it's a fairly good filter and indicator. Nothing more, nothing less. I would never say a domain is strong/weak just because it has this or that DR. It's just one of many variables to judge a domain's value.
And damn, you made me feel bad now. I apologize that I sounded snide. I was hungry when I wrote the post.
Doesn't happen a lot that I see someone that understands the metrics worth...
You can use them as an indicator but people here see these metrics as the holy bible and they are really not, for bulk checking I would go with Ahref as MOZ DA is just utter garbage but manually checking the backlink profiles is best, takes times but he everything that is good takes time or cost money.

Site #1 has better metrics, but it is purely link spam. You can easily spot that if you look at the timeline of "Referring domains" - huge spike in incoming links.
Site #2 has worse metrics, but it's not spam. When you look at the timelime, even though there's also a spike, it less aggressive than Site #1.
Without you checking with Ahfres, I can persuade you to buy a link on Site #1, telling you how good the metrics are? Maybe. You will get ripped off? Surely.
As stated above, always check organic traffic and keyword movements to really know what a site is worth.

Both are best but my opinion Ahref will be the best choice.

They both have different ways of calculating, DR and DA. But, Ahrefs is anyday better in my opinion.

+1 for Ahrefs. Much more accurate than Moz in this matter.
Like someone else have already said in the thread, I would never judge the performance of a website based on Ahrefs rating only. But it's a great indicator on the link profile, especially if you are doing bulk work.
