UAE, particularly Dubai has become an industrialized city.

Due its relatively cheap market, it's kind of alluring to visit that place, especially the tower.

Who's been there and what was your experience? What are the goods and bads?

Dubai is a beautiful and a very rich country in terms of the development that takes place over there but its costly too :(

Ive been to Dubai, its not that costly as everything is dutyfree

It's nice, clean and brand spanking new for the most part. Get's boring REALLY fast though. The only thing to do is hang out in malls and catch some sun...the other thing that bothers me is they'll never grant Emirate citizenship, and you can be deported at any minute. Not the I plan on stirring stuff up, but you'll end up feeling like a second class citizen awfully fast.

Not to mention if you ever got into a legal issue against an Emirate, you get deported and he wins.

Ive been to dubai twice, have friends and family there too, its not that expensive compared to European countries or UK

lol Dubai is costly man few of my relatives live there

I plan on going there this summer, in a few months.

Does anyone know the rough costs of staying there for like a week? I've always thought that it would be expensive in dubai.

It is, unless you have some relatives staying there so you can stay with them. If you're gonna stay in some hotel there, then it's gonna cost ya.
@OP Good - Luxury, Hot girls, Good food, Hot girls, Secure, Hot girls.
Bad - Nothing that I know of but I hear that they're really strict with the rules.

How much are we talking for a trip there for 7 days at a fairly nice hotel?

Around 1000-1400 USD.. Depending how good you want the hotel.. :P But 1000-1400 USD would work out for the average.

Great city spent one year there but traffic is a problem and what ever the 'Experts' say in this thread it will cost you that is for sure...

I'm not much into sight-seeing and staring at skyscrapers. But if I were to travel to another country my main concern would be the women. Anyway, contrary to popular belief I'm not in the mob. But my 'associates' and I have always wanted to go to Dubai err....to conduct business and holler at the Indian women there.

I visited Dubai 2 times , damn its a great place to have fun and shopping in World's Biggest shopping malls

Leith catch me on skype , lets go togethor :)

Yea for a decent hotel. You could probaly get a cheap package with hotel. Flight prices both ways is around the same. So around 2200 USD for Hotel + Flight. And then remember living expenses is soo high.

Really, it can't be any more expensive than the nordic countries such as Sweden. I found some nice trips for $1000, but not sure what I'd do there.
